Phoneme Segmentation! Make and Take Freebie and Book Talk Tuesday
Segmenting words is an important skill that we work on throughout the year. Kids need a variety of hands on ways to work on this skill in order to make it more concrete. Where's My Mummy? We did a character analysis of Bubby Mummy. We discussed how he looks, how he feels, and what he does. I typed up some statements that were true and some that weren't true. If the student's said that the statement was true for Baby Mummy then they had to give evidence to support why it should go on the chart. The kids had so much fun learning about owls this week.
