We also have a Free Year-Long Curriculum Map for Kindergarten and First Grade. (Scroll to the bottom of this post to grab the map and spines) If you want to read the throw back post carry on! Where’s My Mummy? Fall Book Party
I'm linking up with Ashley from The Teacher's Treasure Chest to share one of my favorite Fall books. Where's My Mummy? by Carolyn Crimi is always a class favorite. Little Mummy doesn't want to go to bed so he begs his Mummy to play one more game of hide and shriek. The events that happen next will have your Littles shrieking with delight. The simplicity of this fun book makes it the perfect book for making predictions and asking and answering questions about key detail in a text. (Common ... continue reading...
Where’s My Mummy? activities and freebies
Where's My Mummy? We did a character analysis of Bubby Mummy. We discussed how he looks, how he feels, and what he does. I typed up some statements that were true and some that weren't true. If the student's said that the statement was true for Baby Mummy then they had to give evidence to support why it should go on the chart. This activity really helped my little ones think about the characters in the stories we read. Click here to download the tree map ... continue reading...
Farm and Apple Fun!
My husband would say that he's glad there's only one of me. But, I can't tell you how great it would be if I could clone myself during the first 9 weeks of school. I am sure you guys feel the same way! Once the first 9 weeks are over and the kids know all of the routines it is smooth sailing. I can't wait for the day that I don't hear little voices calling out, "Mrs. Jump" 100 times. I told my little sweeties that I was going to change my name and one of them said in a worried voice, "But ... continue reading...

Their excitement was so contagious that when I was observed this week (we don't know ahead of time when our administrators are coming they just pop in and do our formal observations unnanounced) my assistant principal didn't want to leave! The kids were teaching him lots of cool facts about owls! Here are two of our charts that we made this week. They say... Owls have.... and Owls are.... we also made one that said Owls can... We ... continue reading...
