My new classroom is teeny tiny! It is a 25×25 square but I think it turned out really cute!
I still have a few more things to add but here is my classroom setup in pictures.
Below is a close up view of some of the library bins. You can see the library in the back of my room in the picture above. It is located under the cubbies.
They haven’t finished hooking up the Smart board yet. 🙁
I will add more pictures soon!
Coming up tomorrow…. Due to popular request, my yearly planning calendar for when I teach my units.
If you already have my Guided Reading resource you will want to go to TPT and download the new Reading Strategy bookmarks that I added to the unit. Just go to your My Purchases Tab and click on the unit to download the bookmarks!

Wow, you are such an amazement:) LOVE the Seuss theme!! I attempted it last year, and thought it was cute…until I saw yours! Super adorable:

How big is your class? Cute space. I am getting a new space (title one teacher sharing with another title) and am worried about how to decorate it to make it look inviting for the kids. Looks like color will win as the decorating choice! 🙂 very cute room!
It is only 25×25.
What are the bags for on the end of the tables? Where did you get them?
Thanks, Lori
The bags hold their writing folders and work journals. I got them from Learning Resources (I think). Let me check to make sure!
I love the Dr. Seuss touches! I am hosting a linky party on reading and writing workshop and would love it if you came and linked up with me!

Amazing! I love how clean and organized it looks. I have an "odd" shape room. It's small too. It's more long than wide. I'm struggling to create an open, inviting space. You show that it can be done. Thanks for posting the photos. I know the kids are going to LOVE it just as much. Have a wonderful year!
It looks just precious! All shiny clean and happy!!!!!
How many students do you have in that space then!? Are the Admin respectful of the space to student ratio then? CUTE CUTE CUTE! My SON would LOVE that theme…his bestie since he was 9 months old is CAT in the HAT!! We have 3 that we rotate for laundry! SUPER FUN!! Thanks for sharing!!

I love the mailboxes! Where did you get them?
Erica, My friend's husband made them for me. 🙂
Love your room! Its always amazing how my classroom looks so nice at the beginning of the year and by the end of the year, it looks like a tornado hit it!
Your room is so cute! Just love Dr. Seuss! How many students will you have this year? I already have 24 on my roster with many more to come before we start! 🙂
My Kindergarten Kids
Your room looks fantastic! I love the mailboxes. Organized classrooms are so helpful for students and teacher. And, I know it is a lot of work. Do you spend a lot of your own money? Your kids are very, very lucky!
A great beginning to your school year!

Super cute!! I toyed with doing a Seuss theme this year. Your palm trees are precious…I'm in the process of remaking mine because it suffered from a mystery casualty during summer classroom cleaning somehow involving both water and the ceiling fan! I came back to my room to find it in pieces on the floor and almost cried ha!
Danielle
Did you make the book box labels? If so, are they on TPT?
Thanks!
Love the room!
CUTE CUTE CUTE!!! Did you change schools? or just classrooms?
Thanks for inspiring us all!
Neecee
Love it. I am always amazed how people in other areas seem to switch schools and classrooms so often. We are pretty spoiled here and get to stay in the same place for long periods of time.

Small but still fantastic!! You didn't over crowd it at all! sometimes people overcrowd their smaller rooms with too much stuff which makes them look even smaller and you didn't do that. I love the Dr. Suess theme!

Loving your theme and colors. Your Dr. Seuss posters and art are precious. I'm having a linky and giveaway. All you do is link up with your class pictures. You could win a set of Seuss colored name art for each one of your students.

We LOVE your days of the weeks drawers! What a great way to organize. That "Next Week" drawer is an excellent addition!!! We noticed that in your students' mailboxes, you have binders. Are the binders your students' folders? We were thinking about making R.O.C.K. binders but we wondered if students have a hard time carrying them back and forth vs. folders? What do you include in your binders?
As "always" THANKS for Sharing!!!

Your room looks amazing. I cannot even tell that it is that small. We both have teeny tiny rooms…I was starting to think I was one of the only teachers who teaches in a small box! =)
The kiddos are going to love all of the Dr. Seuss decorations.
Didn't you have a reading loft or am I just imagining that???!!???
Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us! =)

I love your library book bin labels! Are you looking to sell these on TPT? I am new to first grade this year and have to label my whole library. These would help to make my transition easier.

Your classroom library labels are adorable! Will they be available to purhase on TPT?
I love your classroom, hard to believe it is that small! I plan on making a palm tree for my classroom and looked at your tutorial. I wanted to ask if you used a golf umbrella or a patio umbrella? I sure hope my turns out as cute as your's!
Please, please, please will you put your library labels on TPT? I would gladly buy them! So cute!
Hi Emily, I didn't save them. 🙁 I will remake them once I get a chance. So sorry!
LOVE your classroom! I love the mailboxes! Did you make them or buy them. If you purchased them, can you tell me where you got them?
I would also love to know where you got the bags that are hanging from the table? Do you think te could hng from the back of chairs?
What a beautiful, clean, organized and welcoming room you've created! You have done so much with a small space {which doesn't look small at all}. Where did you pick up the black shelving that houses all of your paper? What's in the student binders? Love it all! Thanks for sharing.
Great job… looks awesome!
Question: How did you print the words (i.e. "All about me")on your labels (library picture)?
Thanks!
Hi Deanna,
So excited since attending your presentations in Vegas. I bought the drawers for organization since I gave up my desk. I also bought the colored drawers from Sam's Club for 24.00! It was a one time buy. Love it. Thanks as always for sharing your ideas and organization. As the other's asked how did you make the library labels? Would be interested to know and buy if posted on TPT. Looking forward to the new year!
Laurie
How did you make the tree leaves! I love your cute, colorful classroom!
I am feeling you on the small space. I am in about a 25 x 30, odd shape room, longer than it's wider and I have 22 students! I feel CRAMPED to say the least!
Your classroom is SO cute! I love it! Where did you purchase your drawers that have the days of the week labeled on them?
I also want to know where you got the drawers with the days of the week? I have the colored drawers that are next to them but they do not hold much without falling apart. Love your room and all of your Dr. Seuss stuff!!!!:)
Hi Deanna, I saw you present in Vegas and in one of your sessions you read the cuuuuutest book. It was with the boy and the paint? I cannot remember the name of the book for the life of me- could you please give me the title?! THANK YOU!!!:)

Hi Lauren, It was, I Aint A Gonna Paint No More! 🙂
Thanks Deanna, my room is really small too, but you've given me some great ideas for storage/organization!
Love the black furniture with pops of bright color. My teaching team thought I was nuts for wanting to do black. It grounds things and helps to unify everything! Love it!

Wow, you have alot of questions to answer. I think I will add one more, ha ha. Where did you get your Dr. Suess prints?
and it does look really really good in there, my room is not much bigger. And I hope you don't have 21 kinders like i do! yikes!
Pottery Barn sells the Dr. Seuss prints. 🙂
Love your new room! How many students will you have in this smaller space this year? Did you switch schools? grades? I've found when I switch rooms it allows for some spring cleaning of some of the junk i've collected over time. Best wishes for this school year

I was wondering if you would be willing to post your 1st week lesson plans? Your post from last year looked like you did so many cute things and I wanted to do the same. Please share! 🙂

Hi,
I was wondering if you would take pictures of your bulletin boards/wall displays in your room? With a small room, I'd love to see how you manage to get everything you feel is important up on the walls/bulletin board spaces. Thanks!
It looks perfect! Are you still teaching kindergarten in GA? I do and have purchased a lot of your stuff on TpT so I wanted to make sure you were still making stuff aligned with CCGPS. Also, it looks like you have 12 students. Am I miscounting chairs?
Looks good, Deana! How many students do you have? I don't see many desks. I love how organized everything is. Have a great B2S!
I have 19 students. My husband was finishing up the final 4 four tables when I took the picture. 🙂
Do you have a copy of the labels that are shown in the pictures?
Sorry, my email is ashley.farless@gmail.com. 🙂
Wherever did you find such cute Suess wall art??
LOVE it.
Hi Kim, Pottery Barn sells some really cute seuss wall art. They have the book jackets like I have and some other cute stuff. 🙂
Your room is so sweet! I love the Seuss theme! How did you make the hat on the word wall? It is adorable!
It is just felt, batting and hot glue! 🙂

Hi,
I am new to your blog and to all of your awesome resources. Thank you so much for your generosity! I have been coming back daily to see if you have posted your yearly planning calendar that you mentioned in your last post. Is it coming soon? I am getting back into the classroom after being out for 15 years and have been eating up all of your ideas to help me organize and prepare for the year. Thanks again, Deborah
It is posted now. 🙂
your classroom looks so inviting. You helped me solve a problem I am having with my setup. I too am getting a smartboard and new flooring so I am moving to an area rug. I wasn't sure if I should have my carpet in front of the smartboard but I think your class photos convinced me. Thanks!
I would love to learn how to make the palm tree! It is sooo awesome! Have you posted the directions somewhere? Thank you for your inspiration!
Hi there, I posted directions and pictures at the end of May. 🙂
very cute!! I love to see small rooms! I teach in a 12 by 25 room and am always searching for inspiration!! Thank you SO much!
Kim 🙂

You only have 12 students?
I have 19 students. My husband was still working on the last 4 tables when this picture was taken. 🙂
I, too, would love to hear how you made the ChickaChicka tree !!!
I posted directions with pictures in May. 🙂
Love your room!! I'm just curious about what you use in the middle of the tables for crayons, pencils, and such. I have always done individual art boxes but want to do it more like a community sharing caddy. I can't find the right containers. Also…what do you use to hold their name tags? Thanks!!
I used cosmetic organizers that I purchased from Target. The nametag holders are actually Jumbo Binder clips. I just removed the silver part. 🙂
Thank you so much for the awesome tips!!! 🙂
I absolutely love your new room! I have been reading your blog for a couple years now and really appreciate what you have done for your fellow Kindergarten teachers through this blog and TpT. I was wondering where did you get the colorful boxes that hold your books? They seem like they are just the right size for picture books.
Aww! Thanks Amanda! I'm so glad you like my blog. The bins are from Lakeshore Learning. 🙂
Deanna,
I love your rooom and your blog! Will you be selling the book bin labels on TPT? They would be a great help as we have to label everything this year! Thanks so much for everything you do!
Deanna,
Where did you get your drawers that have the days of the week on them? It looks so organized!
Can you explain how you made your Chicka Chicka trees?
I LOVE your black tables. Did you buy them or make them? The tables in my classroom were there when I was in Kindergarten, lol. My school system doesn't have money in their budget for new tables so we have to make do with what we have. After seeing your tables I am thinking of a doing a Fall Break DIY makeover on them.
