The Littles LOVE these center activities! They are a great way to reinforce the skills we’ve been working on and the kids don’t even realize they are actually working! 🙂
Key to My Heart
For this center they have to match the key to the heart it belongs to by making sums of 10.
I always made a sums to 20 version for my Littles who need to be pushed a little more.
Monster Measurement
This Littles measure the monsters using the heart rulers.
Then, they record their measurements and compare them.
For differentiation some of the Littles add the measurements of the monsters together.
Broken Hearts
This game is played like Concentration.
The Littles try to match up the hearts halves to spell their sight words.
At the end of the game they choose a few of their matches and write sentences with the words on their recording sheet.
This one is also played like Concentration.
They match the words to their pictures.
For differentiation there is a CVC set and a set that includes digraphs for those who have already mastered CVC words.
