Thanksgiving classroom activities for kindergarten and first grade with free files. Turkey in Disguise activity, pilgrims, and other crafts to make Thanksgiving the best EVER!
Do you ever have one of those weeks where you feel like you haven’t accomplished a lot?
Well.. this has been one of those weeks for me!
Here are some of the things we’ve done so far.
Thanksgiving classroom activities: Read Aloud
We read, If I Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620. Then we used this book to work on comprehension. We are charting some of the things we are learning on our Mayflower Voyage
treemap.
I hope to finish it tomorrow. Interactive writing is such a great way to support students as they start to grow as a writer.
Thanksgiving classroom activities: Turkey Glyphs!
UPDATE: I have updated the unit since this blog post was created.
The updated Turkey Glyph now includes recording sheets, patterns, and a much cuter turkey. You can find this activity by clicking: Turkey Glyph Math and Literacy Fun!
Thanksgiving classroom activities: Turkey in Disguise
We did a fun family project. Each family was given a turkey to disguise so that he wouldn’t be eaten on Thanksgiving Day! Here are a few of the turkeys. So adorable!
This pattern shown is not available, but you can find a free version of this activity at the end of this blog post.
Thanksgiving classroom activities: Pumpkin Jack!
Thanksgiving classroom activities: Turkey Strut Math fact books
We also loved working on this turkey math fact activity! This has been added to my Thanksgiving Activities.
