We created our How-To Make Leprechaun Punch chart using Interactive Writing. I love using Interactive Writing because it is the perfect time to apply the phonics chunks and spelling patterns that we’ve been learning, sentence structure and conventions. *Note: We didn’t complete the chart in one sitting. As soon as the little sweeties start getting antsy we stop and pick back up whenever we have a few extra minutes during the day.
Then, the following day students wrote their own How-To. They can use our chart as a reference or have a go on their own.
The glyph patterns, questions, graphs, and Leprechaun Punch activities are just a tiny portion of what’s included in my St. Patrick’s Day unit. You can check it out by clicking HERE
