After my last post I received a lot of GREAT questions!!
So before I move on I thought I’d take the time to answer them all in a blog post in case other people had the same questions.
I hope that helped answer your questions! ย I’ll be back tomorrow to talk about the Big Book station!

Thank you for taking the time to write this post. I know many teachers are going to benefit from reading it! Amber ~ Kindergarten Rocks Blog
I love the idea of kids taking snack out to recess with them. What a good way to save time. I love how you focus on independence for kids. If the rest of the kids don't know what that looks like or are not held to that expectation there would be very little time for you to teach small groups!

A great read. I'm going to recommend it to our Kinder team here in Australia today!
Thanks for sharing your strengths.

You're amazing! Can you just come to my classroom and tutor me?!?! ๐

Great responses! I feel like we teach very similar (foster independence, few worksheets, integrating subject areas, etc…) just in different grade levels. ๐ Question – what are picture sorts?
Picture sorts are just pictures that the kids sort based on things like initial sound, vowel sound, ending sound, etc; ๐
Could you share how you train your students to be independent the first weeks of school? I think this is what I am missing. Thank you! Traci
Thank you so, so much! That was very helpful
Are you required to use a district adopted ELA curriculum? If so, how do you fit that in your schedule?
NO! Praise the Lord! I have a lot of freedom. I couldn't imagine using a "canned" curriculum. Most of those programs were written by people who have never taught.
Thanks for sharing! You are amazing!
thanks for all the wonderful info! i was wondering… do you correct everything that comes in to your green folder?
Yes! I try to check over everything that's turned in. Not all of the centers have a product that has to be turned in so if I stay on top of it each day it is really quick to check the work and send it home.
Thanks for all the amazing information! I was sharing it with my colleagues today and they wanted to know if you have all of your students in your room during your reading block or if some of them are pulled out during that time (special education students).
They are all in my room. ๐ I don't have any who are pulled out.
Thank you so much!! I have such a hard time figuring out how to manage my center time, and extra writing time!!
